About Mei
Mei was born in Los Angeles, California and raised on the island of Puerto Rico, allowing to become exposed to a wide array of cultures and influencing their diverse personality. Encouraged from an early age to be their own self, Mei discovered a natural passion by creating a world through the arts with crafts such as jewelry, recyclable projects, customizable trend styles with hair and fashion, paint and pencils, dance, theatre, sports; in all, any medium that would allow the mind to express the abstract world they lived in.
Mei pursued the Arts in the University of Puerto Rico and The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, earning a Bachelor degree in Graphic Design and an Associates in Fine Arts.
Mei also brings you art without taboos, or restrictions. Performing as a featured artist in local art shows, pop-up galleries, private events, and social venues, with art that inspires all of those who have thought that at any point an idea was too crazy to make happen. The experience allows their art to fuse mixed medias, such acrylic art with graphic work, expanding and creating possibilities.
As if paint and graphic wasn’t enough, Mei was presented with the opportunity to make their passion permanent, with body ink, as a professionally licensed tattoo artist in the city of Los Angeles. Representing the Caribbean heat and the free-spirit of the west, tattooing became another tool of art in 2010. As of May 2020, Mei Meii is trained in helping those who would like to erase past tattoos by becoming a tattoo removal technician, certified by Tattoo Vanish, a non-laser tattoo removal method. Mei s the only tattoo artist in the Los Angeles area that does this type of tattoo removal.
Recently, Mei also became skilled in video editing, which has helped expand their artistic abilities even more. There truly is no limitation for us when it comes to our passion and dedication to art.
